collating sequence

Does anybody know how to tell S.E. to change its collating sequence for the ORDER BY clause? We need a reasonable output for German. We use the S.E. on top of SCO Unix (with NL support), but Informix ignores any "locales" set at the OS level. Thanks in advance, Martin Hitz hitz@ifs.univie.ac.at
