You obviously need ODBC, and we have so far found the OpenLink driver to be the best (http://www.openlinksw.com). You need to use the RDO connections (not DAO) to gain maximum speed. The difference between these two is very significant. We have had no problems, and the application works very well. For new applications we plan to use Java. That wasn't available when development on the above application was first started, nor was Delphi which may be a better alternative. Visual FoxPro isn't interesting to us. It's dBase language is simply to braindead. Also I doubt it to be a major future product for Microsoft.
