[The following message was received from Les Squires, Editor of the Boston Computer Society's Boston Computer News Network electronic newsletters. For more information, please contact Les at LSquires@World.Std.Com, or Pete Kruckenberg at kruckenb@sal.cs.utah.edu. For those who may not know, Gupta develops software for client/server database systems. Their front end, SQLWindows, (compatible with Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, and other database servers) has received a great deal of coverage in industry magazines. SQLBase, their database server, was developed specifically for PC-based (Novell) networks and has several optimizations specific to that type of network. Gupta is one of the first developers to incorporate Novell's AppWare develop- ment system in their products. And now, the message ... --Pete] BCNN is rolling out a NEW newsletter! BCNN/Gupta is dedicated to Client-Server issues for developers using Gupta Corporation's client server application development system (SQLWindows), Quest, and/or Gupta's database server (SQLBase). BCNN/Gupta is like all other BCNN Email Newsletters (Fox, Access, Clipper, OLE2.0 Suites). You give. You take. Developers talk to developers. Free. CI$. Internet. Tips. Polls. Reminders. <g> On the other hand, BCNN/Gupta is different from the other letters. We're going to try some up-scale experimentation. Would you be interested in joining this group if I negotiated some good deals on the stuff you need to get started? If I helped to form a local workgroup of you and your buddies, and helped to keep the local fires burning? If I provided electronic news for your existing user groups? If I made a commitment to match you up with some job opportunities as soon as you become proficient? Let me know. Take your pick and reply: GUPTA-YES //-I'm interested. Send more details. GUPTA-NO //-Not interested. Don't send any reminders! <g> BCNN-REMOVE //-Don't *ever* bother me again with email like this! If YES, please include your CITY, STATE/PROVINCE, ZIP, and COUNTRY. Geography is important to support local efforts. Optionally, include a 30-40 line paragraph of experiences you've had with Gupta products, contributions you might want to make to the newsletter, or anything else regarding your interest in Client-Server applications. Cheers.
