Well, I think I agree with both Kathy and Richard on this. Certainly, you need ISQL (or whatever it's called these days) for quick and dirty queries of your database. Otherwise, use 4GL to make a rigid application. I have one machine on which I don't have SQL and it's a pain having to write a 4gl application to query the data I want. But, no matter, I'm writing an isqlperl script that will allow me to enter a quick and dirty query and have it executed. (I may regret saying this on the net, but it may well be ready in a day or so's time.) In the meantime, get SQL or DBACCESS for those quick queries. Regards Neil -- Neil S.
