I don't have much more information since we do not have a system administrator but from running the application we were able to see differences from when the dbchunks were local versus from the filesystem which was on the Compellent. Both were filesystems though. Just running the dd command and writing a 1GB file out took 47 seconds. Pehaps it is a RH configuration issue?
