Hi!
Platform: DEC AlphaServer 4100
OS: Digital UNIX 4.0D
IDS: 7.23.FC4
Tape drive: /dev/rmt0h (internal 4mm DAT, Block size set to 512KB,
size set to 2000000KB via onmonitor)
I initialized the instance, added separate dbspaces and blobspaces
(plogdbs for the physlog, llogdbs for the logical logs, two tempdbs's,
one blobspace, blobdbs, that works plus one, tracblobdbs, with a downed
chunk due to my dropping it while the instance was online, and the last
dbspace, tracdbs, for actual data). While loading the data and moving
the logs around, I had the tape device set to /dev/null to prevent the
long transaction problem.
Last week, I reset the tape device to /dev/rmt0h, my internal 4mm DAT
drive, which works very well for normal operating system dumps (using
vdump for the advfs filesystem I have). When I tried running a levl-0
archive from the command line, using the command:
ontape -s -L 0 -y
I got the following messages in the message log (a bit lengthy since I
tried the archive twice):

I've got the onstat -a output and any af or shmem dumps avaialbe for any
one to peruse. Can someone point me in the right direction for an
explanation/solution to this? I shall be upgrading to IDS 7.30.FCx in
December, but I'm in the midst of testing of a major application now and
time is of the essence. If the database needs to be redstored, I will be
setting testing back by 1.5 hours. Thanks for your help in advance.
