IS NULL memory leak Solution

Thanks for the feed back, this list is great! It was Informix BUG 85816 that caused our memory leak. We experienced it when using the IS NULL clause in a prepared statment, but others have found it when passing a null to a '?' when executing a prepared stmt. Another senerio was nulls on an indexed column. This is fixed in 7.3 and a patch should be able to be back poorted to any 7.x . I don't know why Informix took so long to solve the problem, they have been aware of this for as much as 45 days (one respondence's observation), yet their support (and we have regency support) didn't find the corroolation until a few days ago. I don't know if my posting speed them up or not or if it just so happened that I got the answers from this group the same time they came up with a patch. Anyways, Thanks again. John Regep Value Rx
