Six Progress consulting positions available
Integrated Systems and Services (ISS) seeks 6 full-time consultants (5 Application Specialists and 1 Database Specialist) for immediate hire. ISS is a wholly owned company of BDO Seidman, 7th largest accounting firm worldwide with over $1.5 billion in yearly revenue. Desired Skill Set: ------------------ - Applicants must possess the ability to walk into unfamiliar environments, analyze a client's business problem(s) and provide effective solutions. - Applicants should be expert Progress programmers with at least 2+ years daily experience using the Progress 4GL (preferably V7) on a wide variety of projects including Accounting, Inventory, Distribution, etc. - O/S experience: OS400, Unix, Netware, Windows and Windows NT. - Development tools & environments: VB, SQL Windows, Powerbuilder, Uniface, Delphi. - Database experience: Progress, Oracle, Sybase, Informix, MS Access, A/S 400. - Major Progress packages: MFG/PRO, SYMIX, Varnet, PRISM, Titan. We will consider applicants with minimal or no Progress experience. However, these are not entry level positions. Applicants without a Progress background should possess significant experience in client-server relational database programming and excellent problem-solving skills. All positions require approximately 60% travel. Applications Specialist: - Design, develop and deploy Progress based solutions. - Recommend coding standards. - Develop special subroutines and tools. - Provide training in formal classroom environments. Database Specialist: - Performance tuning (all hardware platforms). - Upgrade/Configuration planning and assistance. - Provide training for clients on all aspects of DB administration. Compensation: ------------- Base salary (commensurate with experience) + bonus.
