Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Hi every body,
We have a production server IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 11.50.FC3W1.
There is one Cognos query which is causing our database to crash.
I am not asking why but I just want to know who is running it.
I know that all the users using the same user name "cognos" to connect to our
database and my only hope is
hostname column resulting from running the
onstat -g ses |grep cognosIBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 11.50.FC3W1 -- On-Line (Prim) -- Up
01:23:18 -- 3294200 Kbytes
session #RSAM total used dynamic
id user tty pid hostname threads memory memory explain
6453 cognos WOCAMPO- 4300 msutton- 1 155648 125872 off
6273 cognos NTIKHONE 15648 imcphers 1 462848 460120 off
My question is can I use tty or hostname to find the person or computer
running the guilty query?
Thanks for your time.
Regards,
Masoud.

Perhaps a long shot but try associating the TTY to previous logins. If users
login with a different name from the same device (PC?) you might be able to
find where the user is located and start tracing from there. A sniffer on the
newtwork might be helpful.
