Informix is working to differentiate itself from competitors, and is putting the focus on its core business of databases. CEO Bob Finocchio also refutes the idea that there is a slow down in the database market, saying: "Every enterprise on earth needs what we have, and they need an infinite amount." Analyst Merv Adrian of Giga disagrees and believes that, in fact, the market is stalling. A lingering problem for Informix is shareholder class action suits which are still being worked out. Informix Software Canada, Inc. has refocused its business plan and goals since the company's financial restatement. Informix Canada's goal is to double revenue by the end of 1999.
