IDS on NT: IECC problem with Temp Space and more

Hi to all, after I finally got my IDS 7.30 TC9 running on NT 4.0 SP 4 I got the next problem(s): 1) I created a Temporary DBSpace using IECC. The file was created, but when restarting the Server I got a message about an invalid Temp. DBSpace. I checked the ONCONFIG File and found the string "DBSPACETEMP=E:\\IFMXDATA\\OL_SPROSS_dat.000:tempdbs". This of course seemed not to be a valid filename so I corrected this to the filename "E:\\IFMXDATA\\OL_SPROSS\\TEMPDBS_DAT.000". When restarting the server the event log shows that the change was noticed, but I again got the message "Warning: Invalid dbspace E:\\...._dat.000 listed in DBSPACETEMP". Why doesn't the server work with the file and how can I correct this? 2) Where do I set the "Maximum Sessions" parameter to a higher value? I vaguely remember this has been set to "1" during installation. The IECC log always shows that the session count is at its maximum value, so I would like to increment this value, but I can't find the input field for this value any longer... TIA Axel
Point 2: Right click "events" in IECC and select "properties". Great, thanks, I found it. So this is just an "event" property, the count of sessions is not restricted? Axel
Hi Axel, >1) I created a Temporary DBSpace using IECC. The file was created, but when >restarting the Server I got a message about an invalid Temp. DBSpace. After creating the temp dbspace with IECC we had DBSPACETEMP :ol_tmp in ONCONFIG. We get a message in online.log like you. After changing the line in DBSPACETEMP ol_tmp its OK. Seems that IECC add the ":" not only if there is more than one temp space. Tschau Manfred

Yep, this ":" irritated me, so I thought I had to put the complete filename in here (blackout ;-). After I replaced it with the single dbspace name everything worked fine. It seems, there are plenty of little bugs in the 3.0 IECC (showing the size of big partitions didn't work, too. Showing ther Server Logs from the report section has problems connecting to the server). Will Informix offer any downloadable update? Axel
