Re: Informix maintenance cost ???

Steve, check pricing for INet 16 - on 7.2 engines its now free (bundled with engine). As a practical matter, Oracle doesn't charge for SQL*NET, their Inet equivalent, so beat on your sales guy for free INets even for pre 7.2, we did, works like a charm. Honestly, we were pretty resigned to buying INets for hundreds, maybe thousands of users worldwide. Then the maint price hike came along and got me asking questions and (re)comparing prices among products and vendors. I figure it will end up costing Informix somewhere in six figures before its over....gm. Steve Romankiw wrote: > > Vijay: > > Is $185 the cost for I/Net 32-bit?
