Re: Dynamic 4GL - any stories?

We have ported our financial, wholesale distribution and manufacturing modules to it. It works quite well and the response from sales prospects has been good. The changes made are rather minor, actually mainly cosmetic changes to make the buttons display the right text. Other changes need to made if starting another process using RUN command. Then, a few more needed to made so that it can run on NT. We also modified some of our screens, so we have screens for ASCII and screens for the GUI. You don't need to do that, we chose to in order to make some cosmetic changes to the screens. And, we needed to change our front end menus. Over all it was a straightforward process that took about 2-3 weeks. Part of the time was spent determining what we wanted to change. It works great. One of the nice features is still having the capability of moving around the application from the keyboard and not having to use the mouse. Also, I think it runs faster than 4GL.
