Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Do you want to back up to a tape device on machine B? Or do you mean you
want to take a backup on machine A and restore it onto machine B?

I want to backup the instance on Machine A to disk on Machine B.
Here's what I found ...
I need to add to /etc/services and etc/hosts on both machines.
On machine A ( which has informix ) i will also have to add to sqlhosts.
Machine B has no informix.
