All, I am about to upgrade my sco development server from IDS 7.2 to IDS 7.3 to become Y2K compliant (test for production system). I have unload all databases to tape so no data is lost. My question is, can I install the 7.3 files over the 7.2 files (after shutting down online) or am i better to make a fresh install into another directory. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Steve "The hardest thing about flying is the ground!"
I am also in the process of doing this, I recommend installing into a new directory, if nothing else it makes restoring easier. Be aware that the install on my Hp-Ux machine, 7.30 engine 7.20 tools took 240Mb compared to 126Mb for 7.20 Engine and 6.05 tools. This is mostly global language support I believe. -- --------------------------------------- Tony Flaherty aef@mfs.misys.co.uk Analyst Programmer Misys Financial Systems All statements and opinions are my own, Misys don't pay me enough to have opinions on their behalf . These must now be put into a prepare statement. Informix is still looking at the problem.

Deletes with a mult where clause........you mean like: delete from <table> where <column>=<value> AND <column>=<value> ??? allen

I did the 7.3x upgrade over 7.2x without harming my 7.2x data, on SCO OS 5.0.4. ---------------------------- Weight is the result of friction between mass & gravity. Did anyone substantiate this claim to a bug in 7.3x ? I've tried searching the Informix Tech Info Centre with no luck. -- --------------------------------------- Tony Flaherty aef@mfs.misys.co.uk Analyst Programmer Misys Financial Systems All statements and opinions are my own, Misys don't pay me enough to have opinions on their behalf . allenj wrote in message <378B706E.2E0FB841@ndr.com>... >jim lowry wrote: > >> Due to a known bug in 7.3, be sure you also re-write any >> code that does deletes with a mult where clause.
