Dave, Thanks for correcting my mistake in the description of my problem. Was trying to hurry. It is described in my program as you stated with the char in it. Thanks for pointing out that mistake. (I said it was working in 2.1) but when I typed the description of my problem I didn't copy code but HAND typed which usually gets me in trouble. Thanks Cheryl Gross
