Backup Utility Needed!

I've been reviewing backup Utilities for Informix and many of us know the sad state of affairs in this arena. ontape is fairly primitive and not very good for unattended backups. ON-Archive is a bear to configure and even Informix reps don't recommend it! That leaves OnBar - Informix's new utility - vapor-ware thats fun to ware... Query: What 3rd party backup utilities have people used that does unattended backups that your happy with. Especially useful would be a tool that backs up multiple DB types (Oracle, Sybase & Informix). I've been looking through the Informix Solutions Guide and have a preliminary list of possible vendors: (9) Storage Mgt Companies: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Alphatronix - Inspire Online Dale Gilbert Consulting - Inteligencia DataTools, Inc - SQL Backtrack for Informix HighGround Systems, Inc - HighGround Systems IBM Corporation, Storage Systems Division - ADSTAR Distributed StorageManager Legato Systems, Inc - Legato Networker-Database Module for Informix MTI, Inc - OASIS RLM OpenVision Technologies, Inc - Axxion-NetBackup Software Moguls - SM-Arch Not Sure: AT&T CommVault Systems - DBVault (WORM & MO backup) Not Considered: Seagate Software, Storage Management Group - Backup Exec Agent for INFORMIX on Windows NT (Seems to be NT only) NCR Corporation - LifeKeeper (only for NCR) Of the 9 companies has anyone had a positive (or negative) experience with them? Recommendations? Caveats? Warnings? Of course you can also look at these companies yourself at: http://www.informix.com:443/isg-cgi/Webdriver?MIval=isg_tools_search and select Backup/Recovery as the search option. -- ...swiftly and silently he vanished away...
