TERMCAP vs. TERMINFO?

Hi everyone, The fellow in our group who set up INFORMIX Online 5.02 is out on disability, and we're trying to figure out some of the things that have been done. Our development and production machines are respectively an AT&T 3455 and AT&T 3555, running UNIX Sytem V Release 4, version 3.0. For some reason, the TERMCAP variable has been defined as $INFORMIXDIR/etc/termcap, and TERMINFO has not been defined, despite the fact that this is a System V machine, and the terminfo library is inherent to the OS. Does anyone know of some reason why the termcap provided by Informix would be utilized, instead of terminfo? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lou Avrami AT&T Law & Govt. Affairs
