I should say that the answer is yes there are some major advantages in terms of performance particuarly if you split database tables accross different disks It is usually the disk access which is the slowest part of the system By splitting the work accross controllers the access times are reduced A proper analysis of your table usage is required but you will get substantial performance increase if the job is done correctly This is assuming that performance is the issue of course and not cost ( as is normally the case ) -- Terry Boyland
