But maybe you could explain me, why Workgroup per-user-license is only nearby half of Oracle7 price? I would have to pay for Workgroup Server (5 user) + 3 concurrent user USD 3000 Oracle7 on low end, pc systems, 8 users USD 5000 values calculated from a german distributor. Features like parallel query, parallel server, replication, distributed option are all optional and not part of Oracle7 RDBMS. You mean that is should only be a licensing issue - Why? I pay for users and options - or does that mean, Workgroup can't hold massive data like Oracle7 or has function restraints? I'm sorry about discussing Oracle pricing and products there - I just want to show, that different products like INFORMIX SE and ONLINE seems to exist for Oracle too (apparently, Thomas J Kyte can't accept SE as part of Informix's market share). -- Chris Drauch ...................................................................... . c/o DRAUCH Ges.m.b.H. OK, I will shut up now on this thread. But would be happy, if Thomas J Kyte or anybody from Oracle would answer my questions directly.
