Exporting data from tables

Greetings all. When I run an SQL against the data from an Informix table/database, w/ results to a file I get the information that I want plus something extra, Note the "\\" 's that appears. How do I turn this off OR remove the "\\" during SQL?? All I want is employee number<space>lastname, <space> firstname.
