Is there an "easy" way to find out what is the total size of an informix database in gigabytes? Thanks!
Interesting question!! If you create a 1000 page extent and put 1 row in it, how do you measure the size of the database? You can add up the size of all the extents in your database using the sysmaster database : select sum(size) from sysextents where dbsname = <dbname> This will include free space allocated to your database. Can't remember off the top of my head if size is in K or pages. I suspect its pages. If you don't want to count the free space then select sum(nrows * rowsize) from systables, and a bit of numeric conversion but that won't cope with index sizes so you maybe need to do something fancy on sysindexes / sysindices and systables. henri.straforelli@customerworks.net (Henri) wrote in message news:<4608258a.0401191601.ed9c36d@posting.google.com>... > Is there an "easy" way to find out what is the total size of an > informix database in gigabytes? > > Thanks!
