On Windows - The database server CSM is usually installed in $INFORMIXDIR\\bin. On Unix - The database server CSM is usually installed in $INFORMIXDIR/lib/csm. So the correct path + name will be %INFORMIXDIR%\\bin\\libixspw.dll Regards, Nilesh daves@ngssoftware.com Sent by: owner-informix-list@iiug.org 01/20/2005 09:36 AM Please respond to daves To informix-list@iiug.org cc Subject CSM issue Hi, I am using the limited downloadable version of Informix (the file I downloaded was IIF_9.40.TC5_w2k_tl.zip), and I want to turn on the CSM that lets you do simple password encryption. I believe I have read and understood the help files on how to configure it, however it requires a file $INFORMIX$\\lib\\client\\libixspw.so, however this file does not exist where it is supposed to, in fact there is not even a 'client' directory under lib. Does anyone know why this might be? Did I miss an installation option? Is it just the version I am using? That seems strange since there is actually a file called libixspw.dl_ in the zip file I downloaded. I guess I will try unzipping that file and renaming it, but if that doesn't work, any suggestions? cheers --=_alternative 0007288E86256F90_= Content-Type: text/html; charset="US-ASCII" <br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">It seems you have downloaded and installed Windows version of IDS (9.40.TC5).</font> <br> <br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">On Windows - The database server CSM is usually installed in $INFORMIXDIR\\bin.</font> <br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">On Unix - The database server CSM is usually installed in $INFORMIXDIR/lib/csm.</font> <br> <br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">So the correct path + name will be %INFORMIXDIR%\\bin\\libixspw.dll</font> <br> <br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">Regards, <br> Nilesh<br> </font> <br> <br> <br> <br> <table width=100%> <tr valign=top> <td width=40%><font size=1 face="sans-serif"><b>daves@ngssoftware.com</b> </font> <br><font size=1 face="sans-serif">Sent by: owner-informix-list@iiug.org</font> <p><font size=1 face="sans-serif">01/20/2005 09:36 AM</font> <table border> <tr valign=top> <td bgcolor=white> <div align=center><font size=1 face="sans-serif">Please respond to<br> daves</font></div></table> <br> <td width=59%> <table width=100%> <tr> <td> <div align=right><font size=1 face="sans-serif">To</font></div> <td valign=top><font size=1 face="sans-serif">informix-list@iiug.org</font> <tr> <td> <div align=right><font size=1 face="sans-serif">cc</font></div> <td valign=top> <tr> <td> <div align=right><font size=1 face="sans-serif">Subject</font></div> <td valign=top><font size=1 face="sans-serif">CSM issue</font></table> <br> <table> <tr valign=top> <td> <td></table> <br></table> <br> <br> <br><font size=2 face="Arial">Hi, I am using the limited downloadable version of Informix (the file I<br> downloaded was IIF_9.40.TC5_w2k_tl.zip), and I want to turn on the CSM<br> that lets you do simple password encryption.<br> <br> I believe I have read and understood the help files on how to configure<br> it, however it requires a file $INFORMIX$\\lib\\client\\libixspw.so,<br> however this file does not exist where it is supposed to, in fact there<br> is not even a 'client' directory under lib.<br> <br> Does anyone know why this might be?
