There seems to be a widespread view that the focus of development effort at Informix has been shifted from 4GL to NewEra. I've spoken to Informix in the U.K. and they are adamant that 4GL will remain their main product and will continue to be the focus of much development work - they say a new release is due the new year. Development of 4GL in the last 3 years has, however, been less than dramatic. Does anyone have any other information about the future of 4GL? ========================================================================== paul sellars, u.k. ==========================================================================
