oninit:Fatal error in shared memory creation

Hi all, I have installes IDS 9.3 on a suse 8 enterprise box. The database is not starting and i am getting the following error message: "oninit: Fatal error in shared memory creation. The oninit -ivy and the online log are as follows; oninit -ivy ------------login as: informix informix@192.168.100.253's password: Last login: Mon Sep 29 21:01:18 2008 from 192.168.100.123 informix@linux:~> $INFORMIXDIR/ISA/sbin/isactl start /home/informix/ISA/sbin/isactl start: httpd started informix@linux:~> oninit -ivy Checking group membership to determine server run modesucceeded Reading configuration file '/home/informix/etc/onconfig.chima'...succeeded Creating /INFORMIXTMP/.infxdirs ... succeeded Creating infos file "/home/informix/etc/.infos.chima_shm" ... "/home/informix/etc/.conf.chima_shm" ... succeeded Writing to infos file ... succeeded Checking config parameters...succeeded Allocating and attaching to shared memory...succeeded Creating resident pool 1258 kbytes...succeeded Creating buffer pool 10002 kbytes...succeeded Initializing rhead structure...succeeded Initializing ASF ...succeeded Initializing Dictionary Cache and SPL Routine Cache...succeeded On monitor gives the following message when i try to start the database. informix@linux:~> onmonitor ---------------------------- MODES: Startup On-Line Graceful-Shutdown Immediate-Shutdown ... Bring Dynamic Server to quiescent mode from off-line. -----------------------------Off-Line------- Press CTRL-W for Help. -------- Informix Dynamic Server is still in INIT or RECOVERY mode. ipcrm -m 52564801 to remove the existing shared memory segment, assuming there isn't another IDS instance running on that machine already with the same SERVERNUM in it's ONCONFIG file.
