What does the schema look like for that table and the queries that are so slow look like?? What does your hardware config look like, and onconfig file? If you have indexes in place to support the queries you're doing, they should be *very* quick (frequently subsecond...) barring deadly slow hardware, or no memory or too much competition for same. Reply with those things and I'm sure you'll get some good advice. Greg oooohhh....I just remembered, are you judging by when you see a response at the PB client??? You may be selecting a lot of rows very quickly, then waiting forever for them to cross the network to the client - how does PB connect to Informix? - many "defaults" are *deadly* slow. I once did a bunch of research into this and speeded up our network throughput by 2 to 3 orders of magnitude in many cases. Search Deja News for my posts 12-18 mos ago including keywords PB or Powerbuilder and FET_BUF_SIZE environment variable. You could be a star.....
