There is no official documentation of this interface and its direct use is not supported. Further, you need to be aware that the interface changed significantly at version 5.00. Version 4.1x and earlier versions did not provide string-named cursors and statements; Version 5.00 and later versions do provide them. Consequently, any code written for one version would have to be re-written for the other. Informix reserves the right to change the underlying calls generated for ESQL/C at any time. The actual ESQL/C language is more stable than that. Also note that in 6.0x and later, the names of the libraries used are different from those used in 5.0x and earlier versions. In case you haven't already worked it out, I'm trying to discourage you from doing this. It can be done -- you can even look in the archives of c.d.i for the prototypes which I produced -- but it is not recommended. Yours, Jonathan Leffler (johnl@informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h>
