Help! Looking for APIs, FAQs and DOCs.

Hello! As a first time poster, I think I should first ask if there's a FAQ available. My situation is that: I bought the Netscape Server pack (Netscape Enterprise Server, Netscape LiveWire, and Informix bundled). I realized that LiveWire is not going to meet our needs. I want to continue to use Informix, but I need an API to talk to it. What I'd like is a Perl or a C API that would allow me to write programs to talk to Informix databases. This API isn't included in the Netscape pack, I suppose because they assume you're gonna love LiveWire so much that you'll not want to use anything else! :) So I heard about the ESQL/C kit. How much is this? What else will I need to write applications? Where can I get it? Is there anything else available in terms of an API? Your comments and suggestions are welcomed and will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, -Tim
