Advice for an Oracle Jock

I am an Oracle DBA. Been using it for about 10 years. I am being recruited by an Informix shop. The job looks interesting, but I am wondering how different the two DBMSs are. Anyone been in a similar situation? Have I totally lost my mind? Any ideas about the future or Informix DBAs vs. Oracle DBAs. Please respond via e-mail, since I don't get here often.
