ISQL

This is such a basic problem, I hate to ask about it, but I'm fairly new to Informix. I am trying to run a .sql file from a shell-script, spooling the output to a file. I am trying the following: isql -s database_name -qcon ed.sql ed.lis where ed.lis is what I was hoping to "Output" to. I have tried many other variations - non of which work. How do I do this?
