I'm pretty sure cursors are not supported under ADO.NET. ADO.NET is a "disconnected" framework. Query results are fetched and maintained locally at the client as an XML file. To get cursor type functionality (inlcuding locking) you'll have to use plain old ADO rather than ADO.NET. You might get better results posting this to a .NET and/or Visual Studio related newsgroup.
