Re: 4GL to GUI conversion

Nick, Brad, THe problem with a screen-scraper is: where do you go from there? The 4Js compiler is very good, but does not allow you to build a true GUI -- it just presents your 4GL as a thin client. You would still have to continue developing in 4GL. I was very impressed with SuperNova (so impressed I bought the company! Actually I just signed up as a distributor :-) SuperNova have something called the I4GL extender, which translates I4GL into SuperNova, retaining all the existing business logic. Your existing system is then in an environment which allows true n-tier client-server, dynamic application partitioning and all the other buzzwords. :-) HTH.
