Hi all, I am trying to understand the syschkio view. What is the relationship between read/pagesread. I read in an article that read means # of read operations and pagesread means # of pages read. Therefore, I identified situations where the number of reads is less than the number of pages read, is it normal ? Should the number of reads be greater than pagesread because the buffer read ? Thanks in advance fred Ex: chunknum 221 reads 142 pagesread 2257 writes 278 pageswritten 3163

No. Reads is number of I/O read request operations many of which, due to readahead, will be for more than one page. Your ratio is about 16 pages per I/O so I suspect that you have RA_PAGES set to 16. > Thanks in advance > > fred > > Ex: > chunknum 221 > reads 142 > pagesread 2257 > writes 278 > pageswritten 3163 Art S.
