Re: Informix Documents on CD...Man pages

Just as Nils says, both the hard copy and a CD-Rom version are needed. But it seems that in all this the man pages are forgotten. As one who uses UNIX all the way, I expect to see man pages coming with Informix products, just as other software come with it. Informix has grown on UNIX, so UNIX traditions and phylosophies are part of the game. Sure the hard copy manuals are good to have and one may do not want to use the terminal all the time, but the man pages are the very quick and handy way of getting information and solving the problem while you are logged in. This is at least the case for those who live with UNIX. --------------------------------- Nasser Khazraie, Support and Training Manager, Pegah Computer Company, Tehran, Iran. Just for everybodies information: This is of course one of the essential requirements of a good CD-ROM based manual: that the reader has a way of making your own notes, even with hyperlinks to and from several places in the manual. Actually better than making notes by hand (except it may take you somewhat longer to write the notes until you get a pen to write on your screen that is imbedded in your table). > Worse yet, I don't have a CD-ROM drive in my laptop.
