5.0 - 7.0 connectivity

Greetings. I'm running an intranet using Netscape Enterprise server and Livewire. I have 7.12 running some applications on the server but need to grab some 5.0 live data on another box. To use Livewire, the database needs to be on the server machine because the app uses shared memory to interact with the engine. I am planning on using synonyms to bring in the 5.0 data. Are there any tricks/gotcha's to doing this?
