A problem of adding dbspace
Hi, When I added a dbspace using onmonitor utility on Informix Dynamic Server 7.31 UD1 for AIX 5.1. No matter what size I setup for chunk size, it always tell me "This chunk will not fit in the disk space specified". Why?
Jen Are you using raw or cooked space? In either case the file must exist, but for raw space it must already be large enough to fully contain the chunk (including any offset but not greater than 2Gb overall). For cooked it must exist but can be zero sized but must have sufficient room in the filestore to contain the chunk. In both cases the underlying files must be 660 and informix:informix. If I remember something with AIX, you have to set the offset by 16 pages (64k), and since you cannot go over 2 gig insize, then you have to subtract the 64 from 2048000 leaving a size parameter of 2047936. If you do this you should be okay. If I missed something, someone please correct me....
