Ok. It appears that the solution is to migrate to IDS 9.4 on mainframe using Linux. I have discused this problem with the management and they agreed. But the question remains: Could we have problems on secondary mainframe if we use this kind of replication at storage OS level? If you migrate to 9.4, then you can use HDR with ER on a Unix platform, or HDR with ER on a zOS/Linux, or hardware replication with zOS and ER.
