This is a very common error due to the Informix paths not configured correctly in the Windows Environment. Configure the INFORMIXDIR and PATH environment variables in Control Panel, System, Environment. Make them SYSTEM variables. For example: INFORMIXDIR=c:\\program files\\informix PATH=c:\\program files\\informix\\bin;... Put the path to informix bin at the beginning of the PATH variable. bin must be included when adding to the PATH variable.
