changing table ownership -Reply

Hi Robert I'm speaking from a perspective of 7.13, so if they've done something fancy in 7.2 then you can ignore all this. It is possible to hack the ownership column in the system catalogue. This can however cause all sorts of unforeseen problems if mistakes are made. Including an error on upgrade which could render your database inaccessible without Informix assistance. (Or force a restore) Because of the seriousness of the downstream costs if anything were to go wrong we have a rigid rule here regarding ownerships on tables. If they are wrong, we unload, recreate the table, and reload. Or we put up with it. rgds -- -- Peter Tashkoff <tashkop@kiwi.co.nz> NZ Kiwifruit Marketing Board Usual disclaimers apply.
