Have you made sure that the relevant entries are in your PC's "hosts" file (the server name and address) and "services" file (the sqlexec service with the same name and port number as on the host)? Another caveat with our version of Inet/PC 4.1 was that it didn't work with hostnames which had capital letters in them, so we included an alias in the "hosts" files of all systems without the capitals, like 123.231.132.123 GANS1X gans1x Did you start up remsql with the correct parameters for hostname (no capital letters!), servicename, user and password? Can you connect to the host from within windows with other windows tcp/ip based utilities (like telnet or ftp)? I'd also consider upgrading to INet/PC 5.01, which is DLL and Winsock based and not such a memory hog as 4.1 Hope this helps, Richard -- +----------------------------+-------------------------------------------+ | Dr. Richard Spitz | INTERNET: spitz@ana.med.uni-muenchen.de | | EDV-Gruppe Anaesthesie | Tel : +49-89-7095-3421 | | Klinikum Grosshadern | FAX : +49-89-7095-8886 | | 81366 Munich, Germany | | +----------------------------+-------------------------------------------+
