oninit: shared library problem

I'm having problems when initialising the DB using oninit. Config: INFORMIX Dynamic Server Ver 7.23, on a UNISYS-UNIX SVR4. When Initializing, I get the error ...dynamic linker: oninit: symbol not found: gettimeofday The LD_LIBRARY_PATH is set to $INFORMIXDIR/bin and 'INFORMIXDIR/esql help wold be appreciated.
