Problems with 7.12 upgrade
Posted in 1996
We have just upgraded from 7.11 to 7.12 engine and 6.02 to 6.03 tools and have a problem with ESQL. It simply refses to compile a thing - even a simple C hello world problem cause an Undefined error (I think it was 99302) saying you cannot use a char pointer, you must use a fixchar pointer. This is for code that goes: main() { pritf("Hello world"); } cc handles it fine - but esql kicks out. Interestingly c4gl compiles it ok but looking at $INFORMIXDIR/bin/c4gl script it does not appear to use esql any more, but some other command. Has anyone else had this problem. I am running on OSF1 on a DEC Alpha and more than a little bemused. (I expected some minor problems in the upgrade, but thought the QA dept. may have caught tis one, unless I am doing something wrong). Is anyone out there using 6.03 ESQL ? DOes it work? Any help would be appreciated. Paul Redman - 75052,1341@compuserve.com
