|You say you set env. var. DBTEMP to try to get the temp tables created
|in /var/tmp, but my copy of the DSA Performance Guide says:
|
| When you do not specify a location with the DBSPACETEMP
| configuration parameter, the client DBSPACETEMP environment
| variable, or the client PSORT_DBTEMP environment variable,
| sort files are written to the /tmp directory of the
| operating system.
|
|Thus, I think you set the wrong environment variable, given what you
|wanted to do, and the sort files used for the index build did indeed
|fill up /tmp, causing the error.
On the head, Mark. This instance did not even HAVE a temp dbspace, let
alone a DBSPACETEMP to reference it. At the suggestion of Informix tech
support (who answered before I saw anyone's post) I creating one and
remembered to point DBSPACETEMP to it.
The dbimport completed a few hors later.
Thanks.
