no nchar-nvarchars with odbc?

Hello! We try to connect a database (for example with access 2.0) with odbc (cli 2.5 or Intersolv 3.0 drivers) and everything seems to work fine except the nchar and nvarchar field types. How does it work? Is there some on-the-fly conversion that we can turn on or is it possible, that nls is not available with odbc. Thankx, Erik. PS: Maybe this is a very stupid question, but I only have to transmit this message, don't use this stuff myself.
