compiling Art's util2

HP BL870c Integrity (Itanium) Server HPUX 11.23 (11iv2)
IDS 10.00.FC9
csdk 2.90.UC4R1 -- I know old but the latest the 3rd party app can handle
I'm trying to compile Art's util2 to get dostats for our soon to be new
production server. I also want to get his myschema working so when I final
migration between current PA-Risk server and the new Itanium server I get my
extents correct on all the tables.
But I'm having trouble getting them to compile. It's probably our weird setup
we have to have for the 3rd party app. We only have gnu make on the system not
the compiler, we use the HP C compilers (cc, c89, c99 & aCC).
I have modified the Makefile to use the -O -Ae compiler options and also
uncommented the -EDbigint=int line due to our old sdk. Below is what I get
with these changes. I've tried a number of options, but haven't found the
right combination yet.
/opt/gnu/bin/make
INFORMIXC='/opt/aCC/bin/cc -O -Ae ' esql -DHAVE_GNU_GETOPT=1 -EDbigint=int -oul ul.ec -L/usr/lib -lgen
"ul.ec", line 359: error #2127: expected a statement
else {
^
"ul.ec", line 363: warning #2012-D: parsing restarts here after previous
syntax error
break;
^
1 error detected in the compilation of "ul.c".
make: *** [ul] Error 2
Has anyone else compiled util2 on a HP Itanium server using the HP compiler,
if so would they be willing to share their Makefile settings?
