Library Listing

Hi All, We are trying to test our products for IDS 7.3. Right now we are using Online 7.14. When I try to make some executables using make file , some of them looking for particular library for example netlib.a. I am not sure whether they changed the name for that particular library or moved to a different name. Is there any simple way that I can find out what libraries changed from release 7.14 to 7.30 UC7. Any kind of help is appreciated. Phani Vadlamudi.

This is a bad idea since, as you have discovered, Informix has no qualms about moving libraries about, adding new ones, dropping old ones, and shuffling functions from one library to another. Also you will have difficulty taking advantage of advanced linking options like thread-safe link and static link which the esql script supports for you. My suggestion? Recode that makefile to use esql to link and compile and eliminate any libraries listed in your current link line not found in /usr/lib. Art S. Kagel
