:On-archive is not reliable (according to just about everyone I

You might want to look at ztools (http://www.ztools.com). They have a
front end to ontape that actually splits the output on to multiple
tapedrives. I haven't tested it, but the ztools people seems like they
realy know what they are doing.
Otherwise you may have to upgrade to version 7.2 (or is it later?) to
get OnBar. This includes (or is) an API that makes it possible to run
many backup systems. I would of course wait until it's established
that this works well and some experience is gained on which tools
works with OnBar.
:I would also like to hear from anyone who is SUCCESSFULLY
:(archiving, restoring, and logging) using On-archive on 80+ GB
:databases.
There seem to be several who do from posts in this group. You may want
to try a search of the newsgroup at www.dejanews.com
:Any options, ideas, or words of wisdom would be greatly
:appreciated.
