You were being flamed because you spoke as a person who desired to get a job which was far from "entry level", yet you clearly had no idea what Informix is. Maybe if you were applying for an Informix 4gl programmer position (which would be a much more reasonable thing, if you have some college programming experience, even if no Informix experience).
