Independence Technologies, Inc. makes both a Mac and Windows client with both platforms supporting both Data Access Language (DAL) and ODBC. The company I work for, AGE Logic (formally Pacer Software) develops the UNIX servers which talk these DAL/ODBC clients. Our servers support Informix (as well as Sybase, Oracle and Ingres). So depending on the front end application you are using, you can talk ODBC or DAL (Excel 5.0 is one application on the Mac which provides both capabilities). Hope this helps.
