odbc encryption password in 7.31 uc7

Hello, On our systems 7.31 UC7 on AIX 4.3 we want to implement ODBC, but with encryption of password. Do you know how to realize this? Thanks in advance, Paul Hartman

I can't remember when the simple password CSM was introduced. You may need to upgrade to a more recent version in case it is not part of 7.31 UC7. The csm is configured by adding an entry in the SQLHOST file and also creating a configuration file in $INFORMIXDIR/etc/concsm.cfg. The entry in the SQLHOST file looks somthing like..... cdr1 ontlitcp texpdx mpruet.cdr1 csm=(SPWDCSM) The corresponding entry in the concsm.cfg file would look somthing like. SPWDCSM("$INFORMIXDIR/lib/csm/libixspw.so", "global options", "connection options") There are no global options for the SPWDCSM. The connection options are "p=0" - password not required and "p=1" password required. So a possible entry might look like ---- SPWDCSM("/work/mpruet/930/lib/csm/libixspw.so","", "p=1") N.B. $INFORMIXDIR as a string is not expanded. You will need to provide the complete path.
